Club Gaeilge was started by Ms Quinn and Ms Copley this year (2021/2022). The club is proving to be very popular and is a wonderful, fun way for the boys to practise and develop their conversational Irish. The club runs in 6 week blocks. The first block was offered to boys from 1st to 3rd class. The current block is for 4th to 6th class. Club Gaeilge is held every Tuesday in Ms Quinn’s room after school until 3.45pm.
Each week, the boys engage in a different activity; baking, art, sports games, scavenger hunts – all through Irish. There is time allocated at the beginning of each week for the boys to be introduced to some key vocabulary for the day. The aim of the club is to provide boys with further opportunity to develop their Gaeilge Neamhfhoirmiúil (informal Irish), in a new and engaging setting. The cost of Club Gaeilge is €40, payable in cash to either Ms Copley or Ms Quinn.
