13-June-25

Dear Parents,

Sports Day – Sunday, 8 June at 2pm

The annual School Sports Day 2025 takes place on Sunday, 8 June at 2pm and it's shaping up to be another fantastic event.

Entry is €15 per family, payable in cash at the gate or via the payment link on Aladdin.

As always, your help is needed to make the day a success. From setup in the morning to managing stations and tidying up at the end, Sports Day depends on volunteers. The Parents’ Association is asking for at least six parents per class to volunteer just 30 minutes of their time. If you’re available, please sign up using Sign Up Geniuswhere you will be able to choose a time slot and station that works for you.

Home-based Summer Programme (July Provisions)

The Home-based Summer Programme aims to support the education and/or care needs of children with complex special educational needs (or children who receive School Support Plus) during the summer holidays. Parents may need to source their own teacher for this Programme. Please see the attached leaflet for more information.

Cultural Awareness

We were delighted to welcome Marwan Hussain to educate us about Somalia last Friday. Marwan gave us some interesting facts about the country and recited a poem in Somali. We look forward to hearing about Scotland, Wales and England tomorrow.

Hurling

Best of luck to our two senior hurling teams who play in the Lucan Sarsfields School’s Hurling Blitz today. Thanks to Mr. Clandillon, Mr. Keegan, Mr. Shanahan, Mr. Walsh, Mr. O’Brien, Mr McHugh and Ms. Ryan for all the time and effort they give to training the boys.

Golf

Well done to our golf team who were runners-up in the Primary School’s Golf Competition in the Castle Golf Club on Monday. Our team included Will Keane, Thomas Connolly, Pearce O’Connor and Harry Higgins. Thanks to Mr. Keegan, Mr. Lynch and Mr. Walsh for organising this event.

Bank Holiday Weekend

School will be closed tomorrow, Friday 30th May, Monday 2nd June and Tuesday 3rd June. School will reopen again on Wednesday 4th June at 9am. I hope everyone enjoys the Bank Holiday weekend.
