Fundraising Extravaganza
There was a fantastic buzz in the school last Friday for our Bake Sale which was organised by our Parents’ Association. The three main events on the day were the Bake Sale, the raffle and our ‘Minted’ sale which involved selling some of our pre-loved clothes. We managed to raise almost €14,000.
Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help on the day. I have to pay particular thanks to Michelle Butler and Caitriona Conway for all their hard work sorting out raffle tickets, designing posters and for approaching local businesses. We are very appreciative to all the local businesses and parents who donated so many prizes for this event.
First Holy Communion – 23rd May in St. Mary’s Church at 12pm
Best of luck to our second class boys who are preparing for their First Holy Communion on Saturday 23rd May in St. Mary’s Church at 12pm. County Photos will take professional photos of the boys in their Communion clothes on Tuesday 26th May. Boys who are not making their Communion are asked not to wear their uniform that day and to wear smart clothes as there will be a group photo. Thanks to Mr. Walsh, Ms. Norris and Mr. Monaghan, Belinda Murphy and Cat Boyd for all their hard work. We are also grateful to our choir from third class and some boys from the older classes who have put in a lot of practice with Aideen Cooney in recent weeks.
Hurling
Best of luck to our Senior B team who play St. Brigid’s Castleknock today. Our Junior A team had a great win against St. Fiachra’s NS in Whitehall yesterday. Thanks to Mr. Clandillon, Mr. Keegan, Mr. Walsh, Mr. Shanahan, Mr. McHugh and Ms. Deeley for helping out with these teams.
Santry Athletics
Well done to all our athletes who represented the school today in Morton Stadium in Santry. Well done to Josh Kelly who won a gold medal in the shot putt. We are also very proud of our under 12 and under 14 relay teams who both won bronze medals. The under 12 team includes Thomas Cooney, Paul Bastable, Ethan Small, Lughaidh Kehoe and Daniel Majaro. Our under 14 team includes Padraic Brady, William Jones Agiru, Aidan Limmy, Jamie Donnelly and Alex Byrne. Well done to Arham Khan who won a gold medal in the ‘Race of Champions’. Thanks to Ms. Murray, Ms. Joyce, Mr. Shannon and Cathy Abbott for all their help with the boys.
