Dear Parents,

Fundraising Extravaganza – Friday 15th May

Tomorrow is the big fundraising extravaganza, thank you for all your amazing support and big thanks to the Parents’ Association for all their work on this.

1) Bake Sale - All baked and bought cakes, buns, biscuits and treats welcome, please remember we have a NO NUTS policy as some of our children have bad nut allergies. We have 3 great prizes on offer for best baked donations. If bringing your bakes in tupperware boxes please label them with your son's name and class so that we can return them to you. This is cash only, unfortunately we can't accept Revolut but will work on that for next year. Drop off of baked and bought donations to School Hall from 8am.

2) Raffle - Thank you so much for all your support and buying so many raffle tickets. There are a few available from the office if needed. Please see updated list of prizes as we had some last minute additional prizes donated so we now have a total of 78 prizes. The raffle draw is scheduled for 1pm.

Thanks again for all your support with the three great events scheduled for tomorrow, we are so proud to have such an amazing school community of wonderful boys and families. It’s lovely to see such a great buzz around the school and the boys are all looking forward to it.

Microsoft ‘Dreamspace’ Graduation Ceremony

Ten boys from fifth Class attended the Microsoft Dreamspace Graduation Ceremony in Leopardstown on Monday, after completing a year-long programme as Dreamspace Ambassadors. Maxwell, Ross, Artur, Joseph, Caden, Kostas, James, Lughaidh, Ayan and Ander proudly collected a Platinum Award in recognition of their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Well done to fifth class, who throughout the year, explored coding, computational thinking, AI, internet safety and digital technologies while also sharing their learning with other classes in the school. Thanks to Ms. Deeley, Mr. Keegan and Mr. Trainor for all their help with this initiative.

First Holy Communion – 23rd May at 12pm

Our second class boys are preparing for their First Holy Communion which will take place on the 23rd May in St. Mary’s Church at 12pm. County Photos will take professional photos of the boys in their Communion clothes on Tuesday 26th May. Boys who are not making their Communion are asked not to wear their uniform that day and to wear smart clothes as there will be a group photo. Thanks to Mr. Walsh, Ms. Norris and Mr. Monaghan for all their hard work. We are also grateful to our choir from third class who have put in a lot of practice with Aideen Cooney in recent weeks.

Computer Coding Classes

Create Arcade Games!

For the last four Mondays of the year, 5th and 6th class students will explore how to create Arcade Games and play with our robot dog as part of Monday’s after school code club!

Hurling

Hard luck to our Senior A ream who lost their semi-final against Scoil San Treasa in Deerpark in Mount Merrion today. The boys gave it everything and we are very proud that they got so far in the tournament this year. Our Junior B1 team got off to a bad start in their game in the first half against St. Mary’s Rathfarnham but really turned it around in the second half scoring 1-3 to no score for Rathfarnham. Well done to our Junior B2 team who had a great win over Hollypark BNS on our school pitch on Tuesday.

Santry Athletics

Our athletics team has been getting ready for the upcoming competitions in Morton Stadium in Santry. The boys have also trained on the Lucan Harriers AC track. Thanks to Ms. Murray, Ms. Joyce, Mr. Shannon and Cathy Abbott for all their help with the boys.
