Thursday Letter 29.09.22

Dear Parents,

Junior Infant Enrolment for September 2023

We are now enrolling for Junior Infants for September 2023. The closing date for applications is Friday 18th November at 3pm. The enrolment form can be downloaded from our school website. All relevant information relating to admissions can be found on the Annual Admission Notice located on our school website.

We have decided to run our successful Bob-a-job fundraiser again this year. Thanks to all your efforts last year we were able to purchase new iPads. This year we are hoping to use any funds raised for more new iPads and a new sports hall.

Please find attached a sponsorship card for every boy in the school. We hope that the boys will receive up to €1 for every job that they complete at home such as washing the dishes, bringing the dog for a walk, hoovering the house, washing the car, etc. The boys will note the completion of their chore on their card. We encourage parents to email photos of the boys as they work on their jobs and we will display them on our school Facebook page. As a reward for their efforts the boys will have a full day of fun, sport and activity in June. The closing date for all cards and money will be Tuesday 25th October.

Tea and Coffee morning for Junior Infant Parents

It was great to see so many parents of the junior infant boys in our school hall this morning. The tea and coffee morning was hosted by the Parents’ Association (PA). This event provided parents with an informal opportunity to meet and have a chat with other parents of junior infants. The PA is always looking for new committee members and are hopeful that they will gain some new recruits.

Open Day for fifth and sixth class in Coláiste Phádraig CBS and Lucan Community College (LCC)

The Principal of Coláiste Phadraig CBS, Mr. Tony Brady, visited all boys in fifth and sixth class on Tuesday with their career guidance teacher, Ms. Gail Hunt. Application forms for admission to first year in September 2023 will be available from Coláiste Phadraig from Monday 3rd October. Completed application forms must be returned to the school office by Friday 28th October. The Coláiste Phádraig Open Night will take place in the school on Thursday 6th October from 7pm-9pm for fifth and sixth class boys. We are the main feeder school for Coláiste Phadraig and boys from our sixth class are guaranteed a place in the school as long as their applications are submitted on time. Some families have been disappointed in the past because they leave it too late to apply.

Teachers, management, staff and students from the school will be in attendance to showcase what their school has to offer. There will be presentations, guided tours, classroom-based demonstrations and displays, quizzes, interactive games, dramatic performances and many other surprises and fun activities throughout the school on the night. Primary school students from 5th or 6th class are welcome to attend with their parents/families to check out the fantastic array of modern facilities available in the school.

LCC will hold their Open Day on Tuesday 4th October from 2.45pm to 4.45pm for fifth and sixth class boys.
