Dear Parents,
Request for resources for Aistear (play-based lessons) for the Infant classes
Many thanks to the parents who donated toys suitable for Aistear last week. We are still looking for the following items: toy kitchens, cash registers, old phones, dolls, doll's houses, doctors' sets, dentist sets, children's aprons, children's tents, small chalkboards or whiteboards on easels and assorted vehicles. If you have any of the above listed items in very good condition we would be very grateful if you could drop them to the school in the next week.
Donation of plants to our Oasis class
Thanks to Robert Norris who donated a number of plants to our special class recently. The plants were carefully selected to meet the sensory needs for the boys in the class. Some plants are soft to touch and other plants have a unique fragrance. Robert is one of the directors of the ACRE project charity in the Salesian College Celbridge where they have a beautiful sensory garden for children with special needs.
Hurling
Three of our Junior hurling teams played games on Tuesday. The Junior A team put up a good fight against St. Joseph’s Terenure. The Junior B team beat Hollypark BNS while the Junior D team played against Pius X. Best of luck to our senior A team who play St. Mary’s Rathfarnham in the semi-final in Ballyboden today. Thanks to Mr. Clandillon, Mr. Keegan, Ms. Ryan, Mr. Walsh and Mr. O’Brien for all their help with our hurling teams.
Johnny Donovan and Eoin Gleeson
Johnny Donovan and Eoin Gleeson have been selected to represent a Dublin schools team to play against Kilkenny at half-time in Nolan Park where the Dubs play Kilkenny in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship on Saturday. This is a great honour for the boys and we wish them the best of luck.
