Welcome to St Mary's Boys' National School

St. Mary's Boys' School, Chapel Hill, Lucan, Co. Dublin is situated in a beautiful sylvan setting on the banks of the Liffey. St. Mary's B.N.S. operates under the auspices of the Department of Education and Science and under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin. With a history of serving the education needs of the boys of Lucan since 1833, the present school was established in 1965. Our school caters for boys across the whole range of the primary curriculum from junior infants to sixth class.

Opening Hours

Junior & Senior Infants: 9.00 - 1.40pm

First Class - Sixth Class: 9.00 - 2.40pm

Morning Break: 10.40 - 10.50am

Lunch: 12.30 - 1pm

Afternoon Break: 2 o'clock

Our staff consists of:

  • Twenty five teachers including three learning support teachers, three resource teachers and two language support teachers
  • A full-time school secretary
  • A caretaker
  • Nine special needs assistants
